December 2022 Uptempo

Vivace Initiative

Dear Friends of Thursday Musical,

I am writing to you today on behalf of the Board of Directors of Thursday Musical to announce the start of our 2022-2023 Vivace Initiative.

We are back with a full season of live concerts! This is so encouraging! Have you attended a concert? Have you viewed a performance on YouTube?

The TM Board has been working hard to build our membership numbers back up to what we were pre-pandemic (fall 2019). But, so far, it has been a big challenge.

We know we will recover over time, but, at present, our membership numbers are still low. Thursday Musical is in serious need of additional monies to meet our operating expenses.  This year’s initiative, like last year, is crucial to making Thursday Musical financially secure. The Vivace Initiative is all about supporting the General Operating Fund.

Your membership supports the Artist Series concerts, our many Community Concerts, Salon Series Concerts, and our prestigious Student Competition and Winners Concert. We are sure you will agree that at $95 (or $85) for the season, this is truly a ‘value-added’ membership!

And your generous donations sustain both the Artistic Endowment fund and the Student Award fund.  Thank you.

The General Operating Fund supports everything else - printing, mailing, Operations Manager, Accountant.  These funds are crucial to supporting and sustaining Thursday Musical’s fine music programs.

The Vivace Initiative can help us avoid cuts to services important to the mission of Thursday Musical – “to establish and sustain a partnership between performers and audiences...”

The goal of this initiative is to keep offering membership at an affordable price and, at the same time, secure both the short and long-term stability of Thursday Musical.

We are asking you to make a donation now. People like you keep Thursday Musical healthy and vibrant!  Your tax deductible gift will surely make a difference.

In the coming days, you may receive a letter in the mail with a return envelope provided.  You may utilize this OR make your donation online at: thursdaymusical.org/giving.

I thank you for your support and hope to share the successes of Thursday Musical’s 2022-23 Vivace Initiative with you later this season.

Sincerely,
Elliot Wilcox, President, Thursday Musical
